Welcome to the website celebrating the Jews of Kimberley – from those who came when diamonds were discovered in 1868 (many of whom played a significant part in the transformation of South Africa from an agricultural into an industrial country) to the Jewish families who came to live and work in, and contributed so much to, the city that arose around the diamond fields.
