Frank, Jeffrey
Jeff Frank was born in Kimberley in 1942 son the Kimberley couple, Anita (nee Cohen) and Masel who were in the shoe business. He had an older sister Sheila (Grant) b1939, and younger siblings Marilyn Shalkoff (formerly Marks) b 1946, widowed, who lives in Cape Town; and younger brother Colin born 1951, who is divorced and lives in Cape Town. Jeffrey passed away in Johannesburg on the 18th June 2016.
Sheila wrote in 2016: He was raised in a traditional Jewish home in that wonderful warm community. At passing he still had many friends from his childhood and many gathered throughout his life, testament to his kind and loving nature, loyalty, fair-mindedness, generosity of spirit, and ever-present sense of humour.
In 1966 he married Lucy Ridgard, whose personality so well matched his own, and with their two daughters, Hayley and Tracy, and their extended family, they formed a solid and loving family unit in Johannesburg. They retained their interest in the Kimberley Community, and attended the 110th Anniversary celebrations in 2012.
Jeff had a long career in marketing, his hard work and diligence resulting in a steady climb up the retail ladder, and more recently he ran his own business in the supply of packaging and similar products. Jeff had a keen interest in sport and played rugby in his youth and golf in later years.
