Capon, Joy

Joy is the daughter of Beryl (Milunsky) and Dave Capon, sister of Linda and Leon.

Her uncle was Alick Capon, married to Violet (Karp) and her cousins are/were Vicky, Heather, Leonie and Maxie. The Capon brothers had the distinction in Kimberley of being born in Salonica (which was owned by Turkey at the time – now Greece).

Joy has written this warm and loving book about her parents ‘For All Time’. She says:

It should be noted that this is in no way a piece of research or necessarily of historical significance. It’s simply an account of memories of two wonderful people, whose essence is hereby documented For All Time. The book is self-published and was created primarily as a memory for my brother (Leon), sister (Linda) and myself, and for family and friends who knew my parents. However, a copy has been lodged at the National Library in Pretoria.

You may be interested to know that the cover concept is one of a ‘gallery’, where new generations can come to view portraits of (and, by extension, learn a little about) those long gone. The new generation is represented here by my nephew, Ashley Kruger (Linda’s son), PhD, married and currently living in Sweden.

I’d like to suggest that, should anyone find the book interesting, they make a donation to the Kimberley Shul, to perpetuate the memory of my parents.  I hope it offers a little insight for everyone on the Capon family
