RUDIN FAMILY
The RUDIN family came to Australia in a thirty-year
chain of migration beginning in the 1890s and continuing to about 1929.
Zelic RUDIN was
born in Dubrowna around 1889 and immigrated to
Australia in 1908. He died in 1957. Unfortunately, he was estranged from his son,
who died in 1988. Zelic’s
daughter-in-law only met him about three times; they didn’t chat much about Dubrowna.
The last member of the family who actually
lived in Dubrowna was probably Zelic’s
niece, Rosie KOHN (née RUDIN; 1910-2002), who arrived in
Australia around 1924.
Several RUDIN descendants are active in
the Australian Jewish Genealogy Society today.
