Chaika (Ida) Shikerman, born in Kalarash in 1893, was the daughter of Malka Cohen and Laiser (Eliezer) Shikerman. Her mother died young and she was raised by her aunt Beyla Cohen Einbinder. Chaika emigrated to New York in 1910. She married William Singer in 1917. In this photograph taken before their son Leo was born, Ida and Willie are with their children Mollie, Sam, and Harry. Ida died in 1966 and Willie in 1971. They are buried in the Kalarash plot in Mt. Hebron cemetery.
