STUDENTS AT THE POLISH PUBLIC SCHOOL IN VENGROV
This photograph is believed to have been taken in the mid-1930s.
Students of all faiths attended the public school in Vengrov, where classes were
taught in Polish. After the public-school day was finished, many Jewish boys
attended cheder, where they learned Yiddish and studied Bible and Talmud.
