The Brandzburg and Gilula Family Story

This information was donated by AR.

My wife's grandmother Galia Branzburg (Gilula) is looking for her maternal relatives.

She did the mtDNA test of FTDNA and DNA test of myheritage.

She was born in Vitebsk, Belarus in 1936.She is still alive(4/2019).It is possible that this date is not accurate.

Her father was Tsodik Branzburg, he had a lot of brothers, Something made him leave to Birubijan, during the 30's. Galia, together with her Mother Dvoira & Grandmother Hanna (Channa) fled toward Astrakhan before the WWII (~1941).

Hanna & Dvoira died in some hospital somewhere in the Astrakhan area. They died from coldness and starvation. Galia then was only ~5 years old.

She met Fruma after the death of the mother and grandmother and after the WAR in ~1946 who took her to her aunt Fiega Resnik in Belts\Beltsy (Balti) Moldova (Bessarabia?).

During this trip Fruma lost all of Galia's documents, so Galia only remembers the names that were mentioned. Galia lived there with adaptive parent- Fiega Resnik since she was 7 years old.

She married to Yitzhak Gilula when she was 25.
