There are two Jewish cemeteries in Tokaj.  One is an older cemetery that is located on an island in the Bodrog river.  It has about 100 tombstones some of them dating back to as early as 1800.  This cemetery can be reached by ferry. 

The newer cemetery has about 500 tombstones dating back to the latter part of the nineteenth century.  This cemetery is situated just outside the town on the road to Bodrogkeresztur.

Unfortunately when we visited in April 2011, we didn’t visit these cemeteries.  I am looking for photographs from one or both of these cemeteries to post here.  Please email me if you can help at: stuartungar@me.com.
