Faces of Jazłowiec

This photograph was submitted by Lawrence Korman. It shows his grandparents. Hyman Bieder, from Jaslowiecz now Pomortsy, and Sophie Bender, from Dolina. They left Galicia ca. 1900-1907 and were married in 1908 in NYC. This is their wedding photograph.

Bobba Bender cooked for Larry's Bar Mitzvah in 1948 when she was 102."

Larry's uncle Harry Bieder from Jazlowiecz "was a real 'Damon Runyon' character and managed Lindy's restaurant for 20+ years and then Jack Dempsey's in NYC. He stopped working at 88 when Jack Dempsey's closed and collected unemployment until he died in his late 90's."
