On the left of Chaya Sarah:
Morton Lang's parents: Joseph, Tema and Morton as an infant.
On the right of Chaya Sarah:
Morton Lang's uncle Yehoshua Lang, his wife Pesia and daughters Henia
and Fancia....(a son Israel was born later.) None survived.
They were last of the immediate LANG family in Chorostków who had not
managed to emigrate to Canada or USA.
Uncle Yehoshua Lang went to Warsaw to pick up his visa to leave with
family to the USA when Germany invaded Poland in 1939. He
returned to Chorostków, occupied by USSR, but could not use the
Polish visa and passport to go to USA. It is reported (not
authenticated) that Pesia died of natural causes before Germans
invaded Russia in 1941 and that their son may have left with the
Russians as they retreated. None were ever heard from again. |
