An article about the research I did to find documents substantiating Chana's recertification to practice midwifery in Toledo
I sent this to SCGS (Southern California Genealogical Society) November 1, 2000. They were having a contest for their quarterly journal, "Searcher"--3 categories: 1) Family or Local History Research--Prize $300.00; 2nd Prize $200.00 (can't recall category)
Feb 21,'01 - letter from SCGS contest
Beth Uyehara wrote me:
"Hi--I'm holding your story, because we'd like to publish it in our journal "the Searcher". It's an excellent account and quite an interesting subject--If I were one of the judges, I would have picked it! But we had a lot of very fine entries and the competition was very tough. We'll send you a copy of "the Searcher" when it appears. Thank you so much for entering the contest--great article!"
