At one point during the long walk from the memorial (shown in the previous photographs) down the Fedor Hill toward the town, Vladimir stopped and pointed to a spot on the side of the road and said that there was a large unmarked mass grave in those woods (on the left in the photograph). Vladimir claimed that this was a much larger mass grave than the one at the memorial we had just visited. Vladimir had lived near this site and his parents had told him about the location of this site of a mass grave.
