Skala Military Parade

For many years, there was a missile operating base outside of Skala. This photo was taken on November 7, 1985 on a street in Skala known in Soviet times as Lenin Street, now named Grushevskiy Street. It shows a military parade in the center of town, in celebration of Revolution Day. The soldier in front of the column is Vlad Zernytsky, a former officer in the Skala Missile Regiment who now is a popular singer and musician in Israel.
