Gitele (Gita) was my mother’s cousin.(note: and a friend of Marija. See Walk in Jewish Seduva, chapter 2)

The house actually belonged to my great grandparents Hinda and Shmuel Gold. Shmuel was a cantor. I suppose he worked and sang at the synagogue of Seduva. Hinda and Shmuel had 10 children. One of them was Rebecca, Gitale's mother. Rebecca was my grandmother’s sister.

Hinda and Shmuel emigrated to Latvia in the 1920s.

After their emigration, Rebecca and her husband Itzik Kagan, a dyer, remained living in the house. Gita was born in 1929. The family was killed in 1941.
