These marriage records were probably recorded among the civil records much later than when the Jewish ceremony took place. Perhaps there was some decree about this time coercing all Jews to record their marriages? Many births were considered illegitimate in the civil registers because the parents had not registered the marriage with civil authorities. Lucky for me, my great great great grandparents Moses and Scheindel did not record their marriage until 1877, when they were in their 60s.

9. 1880 April 2, No. 56 - Birth of Ruchel, illegitimate daughter of Resi Schuster, daughter of Israel and Chane Schuster from Wiznitz, in illegitimate marriage with Schaje Bruker, residing at Radauti no. 181. Name given on April 3. Godfather Schmil Weinstein. Midwife: Garen Goldstein. Legitimation in Register for marriages vol. II, p. 22-23.
10. 1881 June 12 6 a.m. - No. 53 - Death of Berl Bruker, son of Aron and Babi / sic! - mistake - correct Rifka ? Bruker, resid. Radauti no. 944. 1 year 6 months old. Cause of death: smallpox. Buried in Radauti 13 June. Certificate no. 205 issued on June 12 by Dr. Kofler.
11. 1882 Sept. 23 10 a.m. - Death of Resi Bruker, daughter of Schaje Bruker, residing at Radauti no. 111, 5 months old. Cause of death: weakness. Buried in Radauti Sept. 24. Certificate no. 357 issued by Dr. Kofler on Sept. 23.
12. 1883 Oct. 19 2 a.m. No. 95 - Death of Abraham Bruker, son of Schaje Bruker, residing at Radauti No. 131, 6 days old. Cause of death: weakness. Buried in Radauti Oct. 20. Certificate issued by Dr. Kofler on Oct. 20 No. 416.
