FAMILY ROSEN: Information provided by their descendant Jack STEVENS who sent Ana Nuta pictures too. Because of the amazing memory of Grandma Lily they know more about the ROSEN family who lived in a small shtetl named Gabin that is located very near Plonsk, in the same Plock Gubernia and the Province of Warszawa. In 1897 the family moved out of Gabin to nearby Plonsk. They didn't know why they all left at once, but they know as many families left Gabin in the same year. He sent Ana Nuta the picture from the wedding from Aaron and Toba. These pictures and many more were taken in Plonsk in 1909. Tauba (Toba) GERMAN was born in Plonsk in 1891. She has striking dark blue eyes and brown hair. Her parents were Hirsh (Harry) GERMAN and her mother Chana Sura (Helen Sara) Schwartzenberg. She married Aaron ROSEN on Dec.16,1909, and gave birth their first son Abram Hirsh (Harry) ROSEN on October 9, 1910.(named for Toba's father). Her husband left Poland, Plonsk, for the USA soon after, and sent for the family when he saved enough money for their transport. Toba and her son Harry departed the port of Bremen, Germany on Febr.24,1912 on the Ship Chemnitz and arrived to the port of New York on March 10, 1912. Toba described a terrible storm they endured on the ship. Toba died of a congestive heart failure on Nov.7,1968 at the age of 77 years old. She is buried with her husband in Hebrew Cemetery in Newark, N.J. USA. Her death certificate was filled by her son Herman who didn't know her age. Aaron's Polish birth certificated said as he was born in Plonsk, Poland on May 8, 1889, like his twin sister Nysla. The family thinks that he was named for his mother's father, the late Aron BUDKA, who died before his parents: Senter ROSEN and Laja Gitla BUDKA. In the pictures Link was a Birth Certificate from Laja Gitla signed by her father Aron Budka and witnesses. Aron left Plonsk for the United States because the Russian Army was coming to take him against his will. Thanks to the American Family Immigration History Center Website, as their records reveal: They show Senter and his family living in Gavin, next to his parents, Falys Dawid ROSEN and his wife Estera Dyna GOLBERT. The death Certificate of Senter's parents and they was listed as Senter's grandparents. Moshek, Fraidla, Lozer and Shaindla were probably born around 1800- 1810. Hirsh (Gersh) GERMAN was Toba's father and husband from Helen Sara. This dates were taken from his Polish death certificate. This document said that his parents were David and Rasha GERMAN. He was 63 years old, when Toba was born, and his wife Helen Sara was about 28 years. Grandma Lilly always said that Hirsh was a lot older than Helen, and that was not uncommon back then. She said that Hirsh was described as a very kind and gentleman who loved children. Hirsh died when he had 80 years old. Abram Hirsh (Grandma Lilly's brother Harry) was named for him. Aron ROSEN left Hamburg, Germany on Nov.8, 1910 sailing of the Ship Batavia and arrived at the Port of New York on Nov. 23, 1910. He made contact with an uncle in New York named Charles ASKIN. His occupation was "dressmaker" and he worked until he earned enough money to sent for his wife and his young son Harry. When they came, Aaron continued to work as a "tailor" and lived in New Jersey with his family. He often sent money to his family in Poland and asked them to join him in the USA, but they refused. After the WWII all contact was lost and he presumed they lost in the Holocaust. Aaron became sick with kidney failure and pneumonia and died in Nov.14, 1941. Senter ROSEN was born in Gabin until his whole family moved to Plonsk in 1896. He was a baker by trade and was also a member of a private local cavalry unit. On January 14,1887 he married Laja Gitla Budka. They had four children, including Jack STEVENS Great Grandfather Aron ROSEN. He died of appendicitis on Oct. 9,1926.
