I
asked elderly locals, who still speak Romanian, about
the location of the cemetery. It was not difficult at
all to find it.
4. All
locals, whom I spoke, were extremely friendly. They
even indicated to me the location of an execution site
/ mass grave across the T2619 road, subject to closer
examination and counter-check with historical sources.
5. To me,
Nepolokivtsi is very much in line with most of the
Bukovinian villages, which I visited - and there were
a lot! Perhaps it's ranking even a bit higher, since
the indication of the execution site / mass grave is
quite extraordinary, keeping in mind that these
facts/sites are confronting the locals with a dark
history."
