Adolf Schwartz (1889)
Adolf Schwartz was the son of Farkas Schwartz and his wife Celia Weiss. Farkas died in 1891, when Adolf was ten years old, after which his mother took their two children to New York. For the rest of his life, Adolf kept the last report card he had received from the school he had attended in Miskolc, his one treasured momento from the city of his birth. The report card does not indicate which school Adolf had attended. The Hungarian translator of the report card noted that Adolf "was an excellent student" and that "one is the best grade it was possible to receive at that time."
