The plaque on the front of the column reads:
"This is the commemorative column for the fourteen
thousand of our Jewish brethren, who were martyred
in Auschwitz and in the other death camps,
in forced labor service, on the highways of Europe,
by gassing, by fire, with bullets, death by starvation,
who were murdered because of cruel anti-Semitism.
1940-1945"
