Adolf Schwartz
The US census form, which changes each year it is used, is notoriously inaccurate and can provide both good leads and false trails. For example, this census form gives the incorrect year of Adolf Schwartz's arrival in the US (1891 rather than 1892), but has the correct year of his naturalization (1913). Census forms all requested the country of birth, which was recorded in accordance with the whims of contemporaneous borders. Someone born in Miskolc could be listed as having been born in Austria in one census year and Hungary in another.
