Adolf Schwartz
This 1902 New York City marriage record includes information about the parents of the groom and bride and their towns of birth. Although most people might be expected to know their own parents' names, the information provided was not necessarily true. In this case, Adolf Schwartz's bride Pauline declared that her mother's maiden name was "Yette Rothschild." But Pauline was a Rothschild only in her fantasies: her mother's maiden name actually was Rotholz.
