(Joshua 24:27) This is the amazing story of an exceptional restoration and lasting maintenance work of a Jewish cemetery in Poland, the blessed initiative and dedication of a single Pole, Mr. I. Ślipek, resident of Warta, Poland, and Rywen Gelbart, Holocaust survivor from Switzerland. We thank all those who contributed to the documentation of the Jewish cemetery in Warta, and assisted us in the publication of this book, an everlasting memorial to a Jewish community in Poland, which was exterminated in the Holocaust, a symbol of an entire culture which exists no more. In the name of those who were involved in this initiative, we ask forgiveness if we offended the memory of the deceased or their families or inadvertently omitted the names of others. We have done all in our power to commemorate the memory of the deceased with honor.
