Preface
My aim is....
to tell people in general, and especially young people, about the Jews of Kurkliai. In this way I hope to arouse the reader’s interest in the part of history which will be revealed as soon as you’ll turn the page. It will be just a tiny part, because a lot of valuable information, concerning the Jewish community of Kurkliai, was destroyed during the Nazi-German Occupation (1941-1944) in Lithuania. So you’ll understand of course that a lot of questions I asked have still been unanswered till now. By means of this website I also hope to reach those people who will be able to answer some of my own questions.
Finally I hope to reach the scientific group of people who are specialized in Jewish history and hopefully to arouse their interest in continuing further research concerning the Jewish community of Kurkliai.
