Note that some of these records take us right up to the eve of the Shoah. Many
thanks to Judith Springer and Dena Whitman for translating the vital records,
to Ellen Garshick for processing the translations and preparing them for the
Concordance, and to Adam Bronstein for making the records searchable on our
website using Steve Morse's One-Step search system.
All of the pre-release, unedited translation spreadsheets and translated
documents as well as the vital records master spreadsheets are available to our
donors on our KDRG Contributors website:
https://sites.google.com/site/kdrgcontributors/documents
Please contact me (rddpdx@gmail.com) if you
need information about how to access the KDRG
Contributors website.
If you want to see a
list of all the records we have completed, are working on, and are acquiring,
download our "Document Acquisitions and Status" spreadsheet from the
Kremenets KehilaLinks website. It is the first item
at:
http://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/Kremenets/web-pages/research-projects.html
In addition to vital records, Susan
Sobel and Ellen Garshick have extracted and processed all
Kremenets-related passenger manifests contained in the Ellis Island database (EIDB). The newly extracted records include name and address
of the closest relative in the old country as well as name and address of the
person at the immigrant's destination. ALL of the names in every record have
been indexed and are in the new Concordance. As a special Chanuka
gift, you can download from our Kehilalinks website
the full EIDB spreadsheet containing extractions for
Kremenets (1,392 records, 2,177 names), Shumsk (357
records, 589 names), and Vishnevets (684 records,
1,127 names). Go to:
http://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/Kremenets/web-pages/eidb.html
Many thanks to Sandy Crystall, our webmaster, for
posting the spreadsheet on our website.
In cooperation with the Central
Archives for the History of the Jewish People (Hebrew University, Jerusalem) we
are continuing our search for additional vital records. In a few days, I'll
send you a list of records we currently are translating and records we are
ordering from the Central Archives. We need your help to acquire and translate
these records.

This website contains pre-release (and downloadable) copies of _all_ of our record
translations and documents, even those that have not yet been edited. These
translations will not be publicly available until they are proofread and
edited, so it may be a year or more before you can access them ... unless you
contribute to our work. Early access to these translations is a major benefit
for our donors.
We need your donations to help us keep this work going. All donations are used
exclusively to acquire and translate records and documents.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
