Dear Fellow Kremenetsers,

I am VERY excited and pleased to be able to write this message. After 9 years of work, we have completed translation of the vital records that we obtained from the Mormons in year 2000. Here are the key statistics.

·        Vital Records: 15,549  vital records for the period 1870-1907, including

o   9,085 birth records

o   6,073 death records

o   367 marriage records

o   24 divorce records

In total, these records contain almost 58,000 names.

We still are proofreading the records. When that is done, we will post the entire set of records to the JRI-Poland database and will make them available on cd-rom. In the meantime, you can search our Indexed Concordance for your family names and ask Sheree to extract full records for you. Here are the current Concordance statistics.

·        Entries in the Concordance: 67,320 total., including

o   57,965 from the vital records

o   3,070 Concordance entries from Yizkor Books

o   1,889 Concordance entries from Central Archives docs

o   533 Concordance entries from Revision Lists

o   49,154 Concordance entries that have town names

o   685 town names in the Concordance, 486 distinctly different towns

o   666 "see" and "see also" entries in the Concordance

The Concordance is available on our Shtetlinks website:

http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/Kremenets/web-pages/master-surnames.html

  or,

Now we turn to the Revision List (Census) translations. We have more than 13,000 Revision List pages containing more than 150,000 names from towns throughout the Kremenets District. The earliest records are from 1811. The most recent from the 1860s. We have THREE paid translators currently working on these translations. We still have to raise about $6,000 to ensure that we complete the translations.

Your generosity enabled us to complete the Vital Records translation, and to get started on the Revision Lists. Now, will you please continue helping by making a donation today to our Kremenets Revision List account at JRI-Poland. Contributions to "Jewish Records Indexing - Poland" may be made by check, bank draft, money order, or credit card. Be sure to specify that your contribution is for the Kremenets Shtetl CO-OP.
