Letter Sent to the
American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee
Concerning Ulanów
Dated 25 Jan 1933
Editor's note: I have left off
the names of the people in this letter.
I have recently received a very pathetic letter from the city of my
birth [Ulanów], in Poland, requesting assistance for that community
[see previous letter, dated 8 Sep 1932]. I am convinced that the
J.D.C. would fit into this picture very nicely, therefore avail myself
of the opportunity to send you this inquiry as to just what procedure
should be followed in a case like this.
Would you want me to send you further particulars of the name of the
place, the names of the leaders of the community to whom communications
should be addressed? Would negotiations be carried on direct from
America or would the matter have to be turned over to some authorized
representative of the J.D.C. in Poland or in Germany?
I want to assure you that your personal attention to this will be
sincerely appreciated by me, and that I shall be looking forward to
your reply.
