Dear Eli

Thank you very much for preparing all the material. We, the the Society for the Jews in East Prussia (http://www.judeninostpreussen.de)  actually preparing an exhibition on “Jews in Königsberg in the turn of the century”. On the background of the preparation to rebuild the synagogue we will show, how the Jewish society in this town looked like and what kind of activities they organized. The exhibition with the cooperation of the Kaliningrad history museum is planned to be opened in Kaliningrad in November 2017.We are looking for photos, documents, letters and postcards to include them into the planned exhibition. This exhibition will speak mainly about the time, when the synagogue were built, further will follow. We have worked for this extensively in archives of Jerusalem, Olsztyn and Berlin, where are the files of the community.

What is the most impressive and unique situation, the synagogue in Kaliningrad is in rebuilding process. All other synagogues in Eastern Europe reconstructed during last decades, became culture centres, museums etc. But this synagogue - from outside reconstructed, from inside modern- will be a synagogue as well. A little museum will be nearby and therefore all kind of materials will be very important.
