Old Synagogue

In this region, it was not uncommon to have a small synagogue, besmedresh, inside of a home. Each town usually had at least one larger shul as well. I returned home from my trip thinking that we had not found any remains of any obvious synagogue in Dolina. However, I was in for a surprise. Later, when I have an opportunity to review my videotapes in detail, I will try to recall if any of these houses were identified to me as being prayer houses of any sort.   Should anyone reading this page have specific information about synagogues in Dolina, please send it to me so that I can include it here.
