Dashev Postcard
This postcard, which I purchased a few years ago on an
auction website, was mailed in 1905 from Dashev to
Dresden, Germany. The picture on the postcard shows the
bridge over the Sob River in central Dashev, looking east.
Based on current images, it appears that this part of the
town has not changed much since 1905. The building on the
right, partly hidden by trees, may be the Potocki Palace.
I have been researching the Liberman (Lieberman),
Schmukler, Yanushevsky (Shefsky) and Batkalin (Kollin)
families from Dashev. My immediate family all appear to
have moved south to the area around Gaysin by 1875.
