Zaverezh'ye and Vorotinschtina are separate
places, as the Slawnik Geograficnica 1898 indicates.
Vorotinschtina was built on adjacent land to or
perhaps on land belonging to Zaverezh'ye.
Coordinates are 53'49 30'03, they are both in ShetlSeeker.
The only thing that separated Vorotinschtina-Zaverezh'ye in
1830 and today in 2004 is a narrow,
still unpaved dirt road. Zaverezh'ye in early 1900s had a few
stores and the post office, while Vorotinschtina was the
"farm." Vendorozh was considered the next bigger commercial
center, at 1.8 miles N of Vorotinschtina-Zaverezh'ye ,
coordinates 53'50 30'01.
In 1999, peasants interviewed in Vorotinschtina-Zaverezh'ye called
Vendorozh the place they went to buy stuff (numerous stores)
without having to go to the big city of Mogilev.
Best wishes,
Schelly
