"The Jews in Russia and the Ukraine" published by The Jewish World Relief Conference, Paris, 1925. "In the Jewish colonies where the number of agricultural workers has been largely reduced by the pogroms and the famine, there are now available 18,870 desyatins of land on which 1,200 families can be employed." There are details of thousands of orphaned children, orphanages, soup kitchens and other aid. The total number of orphans in orphanages (no just Jews) is estimated at 1,5 -2 million.
