Jewishgen Yizkor Book Project

Yizkor books were written by Holocaust survivors or their descendants as memorials to the Jewish communities destroyed in the Holocaust.  They include descriptions and histories of the people and communities. Many also contain photographs, maps, synagogue details, etc.   The Jewishgen  Yizkor Book project started around 1996 and is in process of  translating and puting hundreds of such books online. They are working on two Yizkor books for the Suwalki area:

Jewish Community Book Suwalk and Vicinity, Editors: Yehuda Alroi, Yosef Chrust,  Tel Aviv, 1989

Memorial Book of Suvalk, Editor: Berl Kagan,  New York, 1961  99% complete as of 1/15/2018
