Suchostaw Region Research Group (SRRG)

Dedication: We dedicate the Suchostaw Region Research Group (SRRG) web site to our ancestors, who persevered despite the tragedies of anti-Semitism, economic hardship, political vagaries, and health crises.  The SRRG is dedicated to preserving their memories by calling out their names and by envisioning their times.

Aims: The Suchostaw Region Research Group (SRRG) is composed of people researching their Jewish family roots in an approximate 35 mile radius of Suchostaw.  Suchostaw is located at latitude 49°08", longitude 25°52', 225.9 miles WSW of Kiev, in current day Ukraine.  In the time period between the two world wars, this region was governed by Poland.  Prior to WW1, this region was part Galicia and belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire.  The goal of the SRRG is to share information and resources, through email, newsletters, and our web page.  We believe that the towns in our area shared many common experiences of schooling, commerce, and marriages.  We hope that by studying the entire region we will find links that would not be apparent from studying individual towns.

Membership in SRRG: The Suchostaw Region Research Group membership is free and open to anyone with an interest in learning about Jewish life in this region.  SRRG is an all-volunteer effort coordinated by Susana Leistner Bloch.  Members contribute information that is freely shared with others.  With a membership from around the world SRRG is a truly international group of persons interested in exploring and understanding their ancestry and heritage.

Please contact Susana Leistner Bloch for membership information.
