Starting in the early 1900s many of the jews of Selets immigrated to North America. The Orechkin, Cherniak, Schwartz and Gordiners came to Windsor, Ontario, Canada along with the Katzman, Rogin and Cohen families. This took place from 1903 to 1928. Today the descendants of these families number in the thousands and are scattered throughout the United States and Canada. Many have established themselves as leaders in their communities and many of them are in the medical, legal and business community.
