Remigoła [Pol], Ramygalos, Remygala, Ramīgala,

Remgallen [Ger],    Remihola [ Belarusian Latin alphabet]

District = Panevezys

Country = Lithuania

Map location:- Lat 55.31N, Long: 24.18E

Ramygala is a small city located some 24 km south from Panevėžys

on the banks of the Upytė River, a tributary to the Nevėžis River.

 

"Ramygala“ means calm end, calm place. 

According to 2017 estimate, it had just below 1,500 residents.

The name "Ramygala" dates back to the 13th century.

In 1845, the former kahal’s of Krekenava (Krakinovo) and Ramygala (Remigola) became the single community of Krekenava for tax purposes.
