Published Gravestones from Nikolsburg

This is a list of persons for whom the Hebrew inscription on their gravestone in the Nikolsburg graveyard has been published. The publications themselves contain the Hebrew text in full and in some cases there is also additional genealogical information, especially for well known rabbinical families. The list below gives names and genealogically relevant information. The inscriptions themselves are in "musive" style, i.e. often elaborate combinations of Talmud and Bible citations run together to create an elegy in praise of the departed.

Note: R. = Rabbi; dajjan = member of the rabbinical court
