Sometime during the 1920's, part of the Sharon family (originally Chorazicki, pronounced "Haronzitsky") from Cincinnati, Ohio, journeyed back to Lazdijai to visit relatives still living there. Ben Sharon and his wife Annie Berman (originally Schupatsky) were born in Lazjidai at the end of the 19th century.

The eldest son, Isadore, stayed in Cincinnati to run his father's business while the rest of the family was away.
