On the morning of June 10, 2003, the students at the Jan Kochanowski Gimnazjum No 1 in Wielkie Oczy attended a special assembly announcing  the winners of the 2003 essay contest. This was the second successful year that the contest was held. This year two additional third-place awards were added, bringing to five the total number of awards.

All entries were on the topic WHAT WIELKIE OCZY WOULD BE LIKE HAD WORLD WAR II NOT HAPPENED. We thank all students who participated and congratulate those who wrote the winning essays.

A special thank you must also go to Jadwiga Palczynska, headmistress of the high school, and the teachers of the Jan Kochanowski High School for their leadership and judgment. Lastly, we also must than Bogdan Lisze for invaluable contributions to this contest and other activities in Wielkie Oczy.

The winners are...

 

Lidia Gryniewicz, 16 years old, was awarded 1st place honors and a prize of 300 zloty.
