Voronkov is located on the left side of the
Dneiper River, approximately 31.9 miles (51.4 kilometers) SE of Kiev,
Ukraine, and 507 miles (816 kilometers) SE of Warsaw, Poland.

The Yiddish author, Shalom Aleichem (Shalom Rabinowitz), lived in Voronkov as a child with his family during the 1860s, and it later served him as the model for the fictitious town of Kasrilevke described in his works.
Historical Outline of Sovereignty over Voronkov
In 1569, Voronkov was
part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
It probably came under Russian rule when Kiev was seized in 1775.
In 1900, as part of Russia, it was in the Pereyaslav District,
Poltava Gubernia. In 1930 it
was located in the Kiev District, Ukraine SSR. Today it is in Kiev Oblast,
Ukraine.
