~ Volosyanka Cemetery ~

Jewish families that lived in Volosyanka, and possibly other nearby villages, used the Volosyanka cemetery as the final resting place
for their loved ones.

On this trip, we were unable to locate a Jewish cemetery, per se, but we did locate a Mass Grave outside of the town, on a hillside.

The mass grave contains the beloved remains of Jews, Soviet soldiers, and residents of Volosyanka. It is very well maintained by the locals.

In the documents section of the "Other" tab, you will find a link to a U.S. Commission Report completed in 2005 that attempted to document
Jewish Cemeteries (and Synagogues and Mass Grave Sites) in Ukraine. This cemetery is not listed as well as many other village cemeteries
of the Zakarpats'ka oblast.
