I am researching my late father's family.

MELAMED changed to LEVIN...when the change took place, I do not know.

My grandfather was Abraham Melamed.  Son of Celia and Julius. (do not know Julius Yiddish name).

Abraham or Avraham studied Torah and Elke had a grocery store. My grandmother was Elke FUCHS born 1874 in Svisloch (one of eight children) .  Daughter of Chaia Sura and Maisha Fuchs.

My family emigrated to Montreal. Also some siblings went to Vermont then Boston. Some Fuchs relatives emigrated to New York.  Many died in the Holocaust.
