Luh Family Photos

To be inclusive, we contacted all of the Luh researchers with an e-mail address listed in JewishGen (as of 16 October 2012).
We asked each person contacted for family photographs or anything else to make the Luh shtetl web pages in JewishGen's
KehilaLinks more interesting for all current and future researchers. Our sincere appreciation is expressed to all who responded.

Below, you will find photos of families that once lived in Luh.
In most cases, the photos you see survived the Holocaust only because they were mailed to relatives in the United States and elsewhere.

Ziegmund, from Luh, perished in WW2. He was the fiance of my Aunt Julia Kratz and served in the Czech Army, raised by the Russians, along with my Uncle Zoli Sklar---in the same unit. Probably in the fall of 1944, the Czech Army was fighting thru Poland and Ziegmund volunteered to blow up an important railroad bridge. He was successful in laying demolition charges and setting them off resulting in a successful demolition of this bridge, but unfortunately, on his way back to his unit, he was caught in a firefight with the German Army and lost his life. Ziegmund was just one of the many untold heroes of WW2. The real heroes they say are the ones who never came back and never asked for recognition.
