Leżajsk is included in the Kolbuszowa Region Research Group (KRRG). Shtetlach were interwoven together like a tapestry and the Jewish people of neighboring shtetlach linked by marriages, trade and marketing. They shared schools, cemeteries, kosher butchers, bakers and more. Smaller shtetlach registered their birth, marriages and death in a nearby larger shtetl. History and Geography:
In present day Poland Leżajsk is in the Podkarpackie Województwo [ Province ] (formerly Rzeszowskie Woj.). Leżajsk is the seat of the Leźajski Powiat [ County ] which includes the following Gminas [ Rural Administrative Districts ] : Grodzisko Dolne, Kuryłówka, Nowa Sarzyna.
Leżajsk is also the seat of the Gmina [ Rural Administrative District ] which includes the city and commune of : Leżajsk and the following villages / communities: Biedaczów, Brzóza Królewska, Chałupki Debniańskie, Dębno , Giedlarowa, Gwizdow, Hucisko, Piskorowice, Przychojec, Rzuchów, Stare Miasto, Wierzawice
Leżajsk Jewish Cemetery: The Lezajsk Jewish Cemetery was established in the XVII century, on the outskirts of the southern-eastern part of the town, near the Leżajsk market. It can be reached through a small market place to Górna Street with this cemetery.
