We thank Sandor Bacskai who responded to our posting in the JewishGen newsletter
and led us to Rabbi Aaron Meir Krausz. Special thanks to Rabbi Krausz and his wife
Leah who opened their home to Leah Kraus and me in a glorious spring afternoon and
shared with us stories, photographs and other printed material of Edéleny. We are
grateful to Malka Mysels for putting in writing the Krausz family history, for
her words of encouragement, and for finding Edelény postcards. We are particularly
thankful to Doitsh Lala of Bnei Brak, Israel for the photographs of the Edelény
cemetery and Edelény boys he donated to us, and for the many hours he spent talking
to us about the town of his youth. Also, we thank Yehoshua Kraus for his technical
assistance. Finally, we are grateful to JewishGen and its team of volunteers, and
Sam Glaser, our web designer, for making this project possible.
